This training course is designed to give participants a thorough overview of the different types of asbestos, where it comes from, where it can be found, and how to safely remove it. This course also looks at the dangers of asbestos inhalation and what preventative measures must be taken when there is potential for exposure to the material.

Confined Space Rescue

Through the combination of theory and practical training, this course provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills required to work safely in confined spaces and operate respiratory protective equipment as per AS/NZS 2865:2009 (Confined Spaces). This training is suitable for employees who are required to enter confined spaces for maintenance, servicing or vessels etc with an irrespirable atmosphere.

Pre-requisites
It is recommended that all participants have completed confined space training within the last two years. If the rescue training is to include the use of breathing apparatus, all participants must be appropriately trained prior to undertaking any rescue training.
  • You must have attained and can provide proof, the unit MSAPMPER205C / MSMPER205 - Enter confined space within the last 2 years.  If the attainment period is longer than 2 years, currency within entering a confined space must be demonstrated.
  • Participants must be clean shaven. The unit of competency, PUAFIR207B  - Operate BA open circuit
States that students use equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications. The manufacturer's specifications for breathing apparatus state: "The sealing line between head and face piece must be free of hair and foreign substances which could cause leakages". Furthermore, AS 1715 requires users to be clean shaven.
  • Due to the physical nature of the course, participants must also be fit and healthy and must not be suffering from any major injury.

HLTAID001 - Low Voltage Rescue Awareness & Provide CPR

This course provides the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.  Workers may be required to provide CPR in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.  Please note that the low voltage rescue aspect of the course is non-nationally recognised and the HLTAID001 Provide CPR is nationally recognised.

This hands-on beginner’s course aims to give the learner a sound grounding in the use of Microsoft Word 2016 to create everyday documents required either at work or at home. Particular emphasis is placed on developing accurate and well-designed documents. The course begins by showing the learner how to navigate around Microsoft Word 2016. It then quickly gets the learner to create a new document before moving onto features such as text manipulation and enhancement, creating and using tabs and tables, embellishing documents with clip art and pictures, creating multiple documents through merging and printing documents.

Tower Rescue

Participants who have previous experience in working at heights (obtained RIIWHS204D) and who wish develop an ability to perform a tower rescue.  Within this course the skills and knowledge to participate in rescue operations as a member of a rescue team and support specialist rescue operations will be explored in conjunction with providing emergency care pending the arrive of appropriately qualified personnel.  The necessary skills and knowledge to identify and avoid workplace hazards and risks, to maintain personal safety and to report identified issues to supervisors and team members, with regards to the rescue operation, are also covered within this course.
