Course Overview
Baseline Training delivers the CPP20212 - Certificate II in Security Operations qualification reflects the role of workers who are unarmed security officers. An unarmed security officer personally guards, patrols or watches another person’s property, without a guard dog or weapon. Successful completion of CPP20212 Certificate II in Security Operations can provide the learner with the skills, knowledge to work as one of the following, and more:
  • Security Officer (Control Room)
  • Security Officer (Mobile Patrol)
  • Security Screener
Please note, for those learners living in Queensland, the Queensland Security Licence Authority (as part of Office of Fair Trading) has disqualifying offences for security licences. If you cannot meet the eligibility requirements but are seeking employment in the Security Industry, the course may NOT be for you. 

Designed for
Those learners wishing to undertake roles within the security industry to obtain a Nationally Recognised qualification. 

Learners to enter into this course, they must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have no previous criminal convictions in the past 10 years
    (Note: driving offences (e.g. speeding, drink driving, etc.) are not normally disqualifying offences.)
  • Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold the appropriate Visa to work within the Security Industry in QLD. 

In addition, the learner must successfully complete the Baseline LLN assessment.

The CPP20212 - Certificate II in Security Operations provides learners with the knowledge and skills to successfully obtain the following units of competency:

  • HLTFA311A - Apply first aid

  • CPPSEC2012A Monitor and Control Individual and Crowd Behaviour

Delivery Method
Learners will have up to 12 Months from course commencement to complete the course.
Rolling Intakes
For public courses, Baseline Training provides a rolling intake model, where once a month a one-day face to face interactive workshop is conducted, which requires learners to participate in theory and practical activities. During each month, learners will need to complete a log of work within the workplace relevant to their studies.
Block Sessions - face to face
Face to face interactive workshops requiring learners to attend five days participating in both theory and practical activities. After the completion of the face to face workshops, learners will have access to the blearning portal in which the learner has 12 months to submit assessments.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL is available for those with adequate industry experience. Please contact us for more information on how to produce an RPL evidence portfolio.
Assessment activities may include a combination of knowledge questions, scenarios and workplace projects. Upon successful completion of the qualification, learners will be awarded the CPP20212 - Certificate II in Security Operations.
Study Pathways

Learners who successfully complete the CPP20212 - Certificate II in Security Operations qualification can engage in further training to complete full qualification/s from the CPP07 Training Package. Baseline can provide advice on CPP07 as a pathway to complete a full/higher qualification or further their career pathway.
