This training program provides candidates with the skills and knowledge required to make decisions about people’s safety during a workplace emergency and to give instructions and lead the emergency control organisation. This program has been developed for personnel that have been designated as the emergency control organisation’s Chief Warden.



PUAWER005B Operate as part of an emergency control organisation is the pre-requisite unit for PUAWER006B Lead an emergency control organisation. Competency in this pre-requisite unit must be demonstrated prior to the commencement of the course. Statements of Attainment are to be submitted to the trainer/assessor. Alternatively, this pre-requisite unit can be delivered by Baseline prior to the Chief Warden component.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements stipulated for this program, however candidates must possess basic literacy and numeracy skills in order to communicate and complete documentation in accordance with workplace policy and procedures.

Learning Methods

The assessment for this program has been designed to assess a person’s competence in accordance with the Public Safety Training Package (PUA12), AS 3745-2010  & AS 4083-2010  (if applicable) and the proprietary requirements of the organisation or workplace. The assessment will consist of a written assessment and responses to scenarios.

  • Delivery can consist of face to face, and practical simulations.
