PMASUP236 - Operate Vehicles In the Field

Through the combination of theory and practical training, this course provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills required to safely operate vehicles in the field including remote locations under a range of conditions. This unit is suitable for personnel who may be required to patrol areas across a variety of terrains looking for problems which require maintenance or reporting.


Targeted Audience

Entry Requirements
Participants may provide their own registered and road worthy 4WD Vehicle, or contact us to book a Baseline vehicle.
All candidates must be 18+ years and possess a current open driver’s licence. Participants must also possess basic literacy and numeracy skills to:
  • Interpret manuals and maps
  • Communicate journey details and progress
  • Report faults / damage
  • Interpret road condition and speed signs
  • Interpret search and rescue procedures

Learning Methods

The assessment for this programme has been designed to assess a person’s competence in accordance with the Chemical, Hydrocarbons and Refining Training Package (PMA08), any relevant Legislation and the proprietary requirements of the organisation or workplace. The assessment will consist of both a written and practical component.
