Course Overview
Baseline Training delivers the RII30715- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue qualification reflects the role of response and rescue team members who work on a mine site or a construction site, who also perform tasks involving a wide range of skilled applications which may involve application of some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.

Those learners wishing to undertake roles as an on-site medic/paramaedic/firefighter within the Mining/Construction/Oil and Gas industries  This Emergency Response and Rescue course is an essential qualification for those who seek a career in delivering a wide range of services from training and assessing to drug and alcohol tests, rescue and performing life-saving medical response in rescue operations. These skills will be gained through a combination of practical training, including role plays, and theory concluding in a Nationally Recognised qualification. 

Pre-requisites
Learners to enter into this course, must have completed various units within the Certificate III which contain pre-requisite units. Baseline Training is able to assist in the delivery of these units where required. Below are the units which are generally required, these will be advised whilst selecting elective units.

  • PUAFIR215 - Prevent Injury
  • PUAEME001B - Provide Emergency Care
  • PUASAR022A - Participate in a rescue operation 
  • PMAOHS211B - Prepare equipment for emergency response

In addition, the learner must successfully complete the Baseline Literacy, Language and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.

Delivery Method
Learners will have up to 12 Months from course commencement to complete the course. Learners are also required to complete a Pre-Course Experience Summary and a workplace log book. 
 
Rolling Intakes
For public courses, Baseline Training provides a rolling intake model, where once a month a one-day face to face interactive workshop is conducted, which requires learners to participate in theory and practical activities. During each month, learners will need to complete a log of work within the workplace relevant to their studies.
 
Block Sessions - face to face
Face to face interactive workshops requiring learners to attend five days participating in both theory and practical activities. After the completion of the face to face workshops, learners will have access to the blearning portal in which the learner has 12 months to submit assessments.
 
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL is available for those with adequate industry experience. Please contact us for more information on how to produce an RPL evidence portfolio.
 
Assessment
Assessment activities may include a combination of knowledge questions, scenarios and workplace projects. Upon successful completion of the qualification, learners will be awarded the RII30715- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue.
 
Study Pathways

Learners who successfully complete the RII30715- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue qualification can engage in further training to complete full qualification/s from the RII Training Package. Baseline can provide advice on RII as a pathway to complete a full/higher qualification or further their career pathway.
