Course Overview

Baseline Training delivers the CPC10111 Certificate I in Construction qualification as an entry-level qualification aimed at individuals entering the construction industry, its culture, occupations, job roles and workplace expectations. The units of competency cover essential work health and safety requirements, the industrial and work organisation structure, communication skills, work planning, and basic use of tools and materials. The qualification is built around a basic construction project unit that integrates the skills and embeds the facets of employability skills in context.

Designed for
Learners wishing to work
 in regional Queensland to achieve skills that may assist with the successful completion of a Certificate II pre-vocational program.  It is suited to learners with no previous connection to the construction industry or relevant employment history.
There are no formal entry requirements.
However, Learners will be required to successfully complete the Baseline LLN assessment.

  • CPCCCM2004A - Handle construction materials
  • CPCCCM2006B - Apply basic levelling procedures
  • CPCCM1015A - Carry out measurements and calculations
Delivery Method
Learners will have up to 12 Months from course commencement to complete the course.
Rolling Intakes
For public courses, Baseline Training provides a rolling intake model, where once a month a one-day face to face interactive workshop is conducted, which requires learners to participate in theory and practical activities.
Block Sessions - face to face
Face to face interactive workshops requiring learners to attend five days participating in both theory and practical activities. After the completion of the face to face workshops, learners will have access to the blearning portal in which the learner has 12 months to submit assessments.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL is available for those with adequate industry experience. Please contact us for more information on how to produce an RPL evidence portfolio.
Assessment activities may include a combination of knowledge questions, scenarios and workplace projects. Upon successful completion of the qualification, learners will be awarded the CPC10111 - Certificate I in Construction.
Study Pathways
Learners who successfully complete the CPC10111 - Certificate I in Construction qualification through this training may wish to seek further training in the fields identified within the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training package. Learners who successfully complete CPC10111 Certificate I in Construction through this training may wish to seek further training such as Certificate II pre-vocational programs and/or entry into apprenticeship pathways.
