Safe Working in a Confined Space (REFRESHER)

Refresher Course. Through the combination of theory and practical training, this course provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills required to work safely in confined spaces as per AS/NZS 2865:2009 (Confined Spaces). This training is suitable for employees who are required enter confined spaces for maintenance, servicing or vessels etc.

Must have completed confined space with gas test atmospheres initial course within the last 2 years and present proof of attainment.



Targeted Audience

Entry Requirements
Provide evidence of attainment of Initial Confined Space Entry course within the last 2 years.
There are no other formal entry requirements stipulated for this training programme; however participants are required to possess basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Training package requirements stipulate that a candidate must be able to:

  • Read and interpret workplace documentation
  • Speak clearly and unambiguously in English
  • Writing is required to the level of completing workplace forms

Learning Outcomes

Learning Methods

The assessment for this programme has been designed to assess a person’s competence in accordance with the Manufacturing Training Package (MSA07), AS2865:2009 and the proprietary requirements of the organisation or workplace. The assessment will consist of both a written and practical component.
