Developed in conjunction with industry experts Advantage Injury Management Services (AIMS), this training course is designed to teach employees how to correctly identify, plan, and perform manual handling tasks in and looks in detail at the effects of improper manual handling.


This manual handling course focuses on how to carry out work safely to remove or minimise the risk of injuries. The course provides participants the tools on how to lift and move materials manually and/or use basic manual handling equipment in a safe manner. Participants will learn both the theory of why the need to follow safe manual handling practices including the demonstration of safe lifting techniques.

Targeted Audience

There are no formal entry requirements stipulated for this course; however participants are required to possess basic literacy and numeracy skills. In addition, participants will need access to a suitable computer or tablet with internet access. 
Training package requirements stipulate that a candidate must be able to:

  • Read and interpret workplace documentation
  • Speak clearly and unambiguously in English
