FIRE - Fire Safety Awareness

This training course is designed to teach employees what safe and active fire prevention is, and how to respond to a fire if one should occur. It also covers emergency evacuation procedures and how to assess whether you should tackle a fire yourself or not.


NOTE: This is not a nationally accredited programme, and therefore NO "statement of attainment" is issued.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • What the law says about fire in the workplace
  • How to assess fire risks and prevent fires
  • How to reduce the risks of fire in the workplace
  • What to do when there is a fire in the workplace
  • What the main types of fire extinguishers are and how to use them properly
  • What to do when there is an emergency evacuation


  • Relevant legislation and regulations
  • Statistics and causes of fire
  • The risk of fire, sources of ignition, and classes of fire
  • Fire detection and the systems available
  • Emergency and evacuation procedures
  • Fire risk assessment
  • Fire containment

Learning Methods

There is no assessment for this programme as it is not a Nationally Accredited programme.

  • 1/2 Day course 
  • Classroom based.
  • Our Pinkenba facility (free parking) or your onsite location
  • Delivery can consist of face to face, and practical simulations.
  •  Individuals: $80 per person (Minimum Numbers required)
