Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot - Visual Line of Sight) (Drones)



Baseline Training is proud to offer the AVI30316 Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot- Visual Line of Site) which has been developed in partnership with Australia's National Drones Institute, a fully operational and successful commercial national drone’s organisation. The program has been designed in line with the competencies developed by the Aviation Service Skills Organisation and is the highest qualification available for those who wish to enter the remote aircraft industry to operate drones for commercial purposes.

The course also provides graduates with the application requirements for Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) industry licences – the Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) and the Aeronautical Radio Operator’s Certificate (AROC). Graduates will be guided through the process to obtain these essential licences.

The course not only provides a nationally accredited qualification but is conducted by current industry professionals who operate drones as part of a successful commercial enterprise.

The Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot-Line of Sight) includes many hours of flying practice, guided by highly experienced industry professionals. The program uses realistic scenarios and current information for operating in a commercial environment to prepare graduates for success in this exciting new industry. The course includes:

  • integrated learning and assessment designed to cover AVI30316-Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot - Line of Sight, CASA Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) and Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate (AROC)
  • National Drones Institute (NDI) custom learner guide written by highly recognised aviation industry experts
  • contemporary drones management software, including access and training for compliance and drone activity management for the duration of the course
  • log book to record flying hours required for Remote Pilots Licence (RePL)

Each of the 14 units of competency will be covered through eight learning modules, which are:

•           Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate (AROC)
•           Practical Operation of RPAS

This course is delivered by National Drones Australia as a Third-Party Provider for Baseline Training Pty Ltd.

Target Audience:
The course is suitable for persons over the age of 15 seeking employment in the remote aircraft sector, or with plans to start up their own commercial drones enterprise. Persons applying for the Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate (AROC) require General English Language Proficiency (GELP).
